The interaction design in mobile app | Duration: 3 months

Would you like to know the story behind the photos? Many people like to save photos in the album book because it contains a lot of good memories for the family. However, the stories behind the photos has been lost because the time has passed.

Sorpho is a mobile app assist people to keep their stories and photos at the same. With this app people can review and share the story anytime anywhere.

My Role: Idea Generation, Prototyping, UI Design, UX design, Storyboarding, UX research, Stakeholder Presentation, User Testing, Sketching, Role Play.

Method/Tool: QR code Generator, Google Voice, Google Speech-to-Text, Blurdbook, Illustration, Indesign, Interview, pen and paper.

• • Google Voice speech-to-text was hard to work with, a lot of errors.

  • Foreign language transcription were not available for speech-to-text on Google Voice.

  • Google Voice's audio quality was poor.

  • It was hard to schedule a time to sit down with subjects and cover everything.

  • It was difficult to find pictures that were interesting enough to be worth talking about.

  • Subjects kept losing focus so we had to change the topic.

  • Subjects mood, memory, understanding of the recording process, and ability to freely be interviewed caused major time related issues.

Bio: John is a dog lover. He has a 5-year-old dog named, Lucky. John loves spending time to play with Lucky, and he like to catch every moment when Lucky is around.

Goals: John took a lot of pictures of Lucky, and he wants to make it as album book. John also wants to record the stories, but he doesn’t like to write. Therefore, he decides to record every story with picture so he can keep the memory with Lucky.

Frustration: John couldn’t find any app that can record his voice down with pictures. He felt frustrated because he has to work on the recording and pictures separately on the album book. This is not convincing to him and took him a lot of time.

Bio: Christine is a professional accountant who recently just got a newborn baby. Her and husband were very happy and want to keep every moment of their newborn baby. Christine and her husband want to keep memories of their every “first time” with their newborn baby. However, they were so busy to write down everything story that happen. Therefore, they decide to record the story down.

Goal: Christine and her husband want to establish an album book for their newborn baby. They want to put down the story so the kid could hear the story when she grows up.

Frustration: Christine couldn’t find app that can record the voice with pictures. With newborn coming, she was very busy, and didn’t have time to write down the story behind the picture. She wishes there is something that could make her life easier.

The logo Sorpho is combination of camera and microphone. It represent the voice of record for the photo album so people will remember the good time they had.

The font for the mobile app that we used was Fashion Fetish Light and Samll Caps. We choose this special font because it is easy to read. The light stoke of the font made the app nice and simple. It gave people fun and relax while using the mobile app.

We wanted to keep this mobile as simple as it can. Therefore, we use only three color on this app, white, black and light green. The color of light green make people feel calming and patients. It gave the positivity of support, peace, and well- paced energy.

The app Sorpho provide the story telling for the family photos. The user is able to access the photos and share with other family members. Moreover, they can also record the story so people will not forget the story behind the photos.
